5th Int. Symposium Heart Rate Variability:

Health Promotion, Training Control, Biofeedback
Satellite Symposium: Training and therapy in the artificial altitude

29. - 30. Oktober 2010 at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg

-> For this event are applied by the Doctors Association Sachsen-Anhalt 6 Advanced Training Credits.

General information
Topics and contents
Heart rate variability as markers of autonomic regulation is well established since the 1990s in cardiology and diabetology. For some years it is coming increasingly to the attention of sports scientists, psychologists and biologists. In particular, more recent measurement and analysis make it possible to extend the HRV analysis on challenging applied questions. The 5th Int. HRV Symposium therefore relies on an interdisciplinary approach and devotes himself especially to the importance of heart rate variability or the autonomous regulation in the context of health promotion, training control and biofeedback. The strengthening of physical health resources and the reduction of risk factors requires a coordinated to the individual capacity cardiovascular workout. Recent studies may indicate which input make hereto a HRV-controlled training. Also in the control of a maximum performance training, the HRV seems increasingly to take a solid place. It can act as a sensitive marker of individualization and fine-tuning the training loads. A very large HRV application field is emerging in the field of systematic biofeedback, which exploits the strong correlation between respiration and heart rate modulation programs. This biofeedback method is not only in the treatment of psychosomatic stress, depression and anxiety use, but also in the operational health management, sports and other areas where the internal balance between the requirements and their own coping skills from the Lot may get. Selective cardiorespiratory biofeedback is doing in this context a contribution to reduce nervousness and tension, and concentrated at the decisive moment and to be focused.
In a further emphasis of the influence of artificial altitude exposure on the autonomic regulation is discussed based on recent study results. Nestled this part by an upstream satellite program on "training and therapy under artificial altitude".

The dvs working group heart rate variability and the Sports Science Department of the Martin-Luther-University invite you cordially to 5th Int. HRV Symposium. With this invitation, we combine the "call for papers" and request the submission of scientific contributions in the form of lectures and posters until 15 June 2010. We are particularly pleased by contributions on the topics:

1. HRV in the context of health promotion, load control, biofeedback
2. HRV and altitude load
3. Training and therapy in artificial altitude

In addition, of course, also contributions to other HRV research and applications are welcome.

We look forward to welcome you on 29/30. October 2010 at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.

Procedure

After proved kind of HRV Congress of several main papers, which give a state-of-the-Art - an overview presentations on new developments in these research areas is initiated. It is then close to thematic sessions with short lectures in the form of presentations or poster lectures, which include new results from the above-mentioned research fields. In addition to established researchers and working groups, this Congress is to serve primarily as a forum for young scientists to discuss current results. For the first time this year a prize for best poster presentation will be awarded.

Place and date
The HRV-Symposium will be held on Saturday 30.10.2010 (9.00 - 18.00 clock) in the lecture hall (Audimax) of Martin-Luther-University, University Place, Halle (Saale).

Satellite-Symposium
This year will take place also a satellite symposium with several lectures on "training and therapy in an artificial altitude. The program is in cooperation with Höhenbalance AG (Köln) and begins with three keynote speeches already on Friday 10.29.2010 at 17.00 clock.

Call for Papers
By submission of abstracts and posters individual contributions can be registered.
The abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee.

Abstracts can be accepted until 06.15.2010.
